I think I've made up my mind to "Go Cloth". What does that mean? It means, I'm done with being asked at the grocery checkout, "paper or plastic?" Ok, nobody asks that anymore. But I'm done with collecting an endless supply of plastic bags that are simply winding up in a landfill. If I'm going to stand by my word to "Go Green", I need to find a better way. Thankfully, Jewel Osco and Kroger are offering cloth bags that you can purchase. I will purchase some on my next visit.
My husband provided me with this interesting article from the NY Times. Apparently, Ireland has imposed a 33 cent tax on plastic bags! That's good enough incentive for most Irish, calling the plastic bags "socially unacceptable". Maybe you, too, will join me in this small effort to "Serve God, save the planet."

That's one I haven't heard before, "Serve God, Save the Planet." Interesting.
IKEA has some really nice cloth tote bags that are inexpensive, and of course, their big blue tarp bags are great too. They hold a lot, but if you're grocery shopping, you can't fill them all the way. I tried that. I am not that strong.
When I first saw the title on this post I thought it was going to be about diapers. Funny.
"Serve God, Save the Planet" is a book by Dr. Matthew Sleeth.
